We believe the Bible is God's inspired Word and is very clear about what we must do to become a Christian. We look to the Bible for guidance on all issues.
We believe in one God. He reveals himself to us as the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus was born of a virgin and lived on earth without sinning. He died on a cross to save us, and rose from the dead.
We believe Jesus is in heaven and sits at the right hand of God to act on behalf of those who believe in Him.
We believe everyone has sinned and needs God’s forgiveness.
We believe forgiveness of sins comes from becoming a Christian.
We believe Christians are on earth to share God's plan for eternal life with everyone.
We believe Jesus will return to earth and take Christians to heaven with him for eternity.
That every household within the influence of our congregation is introduced to Jesus Christ, where lives are transformed by Him into fully devoted followers - based on Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (NIV)
First Church of Christ exists to produce fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ - based on Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (NIV)
First Church is not part of a denomination. We are part of an independent movement that grew from a religious revival that took place in the US in the 1800s. The goal of this restoration movement is to bring the church back to the original teachings of Jesus. This restoration movement is now known as the Church of Christ/Christian Church.

What does the Bible Say About ....
The aim of this booklet is to give a brief overview of the Bible’s teachings. The first half (What to Know) teaches about God and his relationship with us. The second half (What to Do) teaches about how to relate to God and to other people.
